The Take a Sec Cleanser

A creamy, hydrating moment of ease

Formulated for all stages of motherhood
Dermatologist founded and tested
Safe for sensitive skin

As a dermatologist and a mom, I wanted a cleanser to refresh my skin and my spirits, plus take off my makeup, because who has time to double-cleanse? I created this creamy cleanser to melt away makeup and grime, hydrate while it cleans, and respect your skin barrier and your time. No tightness. No stripping. No one else allowed in the bathroom for 3 minutes.

How to Use
  1. AM or PM, apply a dime-sized amount to your wet face.
  2. Gently massage for 20 seconds (and 10 more seconds if you have makeup on).
  3. Rinse well and pat dry.
  4. Let it go. All of it.
Ingredients

Glycerin — 15% — The highest glycerin concentration you'll find in a cleanser. Most cleansers strip moisture; this one actively adds it.

Natural Betaine — 1% — Sustainably sourced from sugar beets; helps strengthen the skin barrier and support long-term hydration.

D-Panthenol (Provitamin B5) — 1.5% — Soothes and calms sensitized skin.

Apricot Kernel Oil — Lightweight emollient; leaves skin soft, not tight.

Sulphate-free surfactant blend — Four mild cleansing agents for effective, non-stripping foam.

Full ingredient list: Water/Aqua/Eau, Glycerin, Coco-Glucoside, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Betaine, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Panthenol, Glycol Distearate, Phenoxyethanol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate, Sodium Benzoate, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Coconut Acid, Fragrance/Parfum, Sodium Isethionate, Potassium Sorbate, Tetrasodium EDTA, Sodium Hydroxide

I Made This for Us

I wanted clean to feel good, not like your skin needs to recover from being washed. So I chose glycerin, a true humectant that pulls moisture in and keeps it there, and D-panthenol, which calms irritation and helps your barrier bounce back.

That soft, cushiony feeling during cleansing? The calm, comfortable skin after? That's these two doing their jobs.

5-Second Answers from Dr. Aegean

You just want someone to tell you what actually works. My job is to look at the actual research and tell you what really matters, without the fear and without the confusion.

Can this cleanser remove makeup, and is it gentle around the eyes?

Yes, this cleanser does the job in one step—no double cleanse needed. It removes makeup, sunscreen, and impurities without stripping the skin. It was independently evaluated using the EpiOcular™ Eye Irritation Test, a validated non-animal method for assessing eye irritation potential. Based on results, the formula is considered a non-ocular irritant, supporting that it's gentle enough for use around the eye area when used as directed. If stinging or discomfort occurs, discontinue use and rinse thoroughly.

Can I use this cleanser with active treatments like retinoids or exfoliating acids, such as AHAs?

Yes, this cleanser is designed to be gentle and supportive of the skin barrier, making it suitable to use alongside active treatments. If your skin is irritated or compromised, consider reducing cleansing frequency and follow guidance from your healthcare provider. Think of this as your reset step—simple, consistent, and easy to come back to.

Is this appropriate during pregnancy and postpartum, including breastfeeding?

Yes, which means one less thing to second-guess. This cleanser was thoughtfully formulated for all stages of motherhood, including pregnancy and postpartum. Each formula is reviewed by an independent toxicologist and developed using ingredients with well-established safety profiles at conservative concentrations. For more information, read our full Safety Statement.

Is this safe for sensitive skin?

Yes, this cleanser was formulated with sensitive and reactive skin in mind. It has been evaluated through an independently administered Repeat Insult Patch Test (RIPT), including individuals with sensitive skin—a standard dermatologic test used to assess irritation potential over time. While no product can be guaranteed for everyone, this testing supports that the formula is well-tolerated when used as directed, even for sensitive skin.
